Delicious! Service was pretty quick and food was tasty. Reasonably priced for large servings. We ordered the spicy Korean chicken, chicken katsu bowl, and spicy chirashi bowl. Presentation was great and taste was even better. Definitely going to bring my friends here next time I’m in Squamish.
We took out dinner from here and really enjoyed the spicy chirashi bowl (you can adjust the spice level yourself by choosing how much sauce you put in) and teriyaki beef bento box which had such a generous serving of food - including gyoza, tempura, california roll, terriyaki beef and stir fried vegetables. Staff were super friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our takeout meal!

Big portions for little stomachs and the kids liked the sushi there. Waitresses were very friendly and the tea was made from authentic Japanese tea bag. Reasonably priced. Strong wifi connection in store.
We ordered sushi and rolls for pick-up, and everything was still fresh and delicious by the time we ate. The portions were generous, and the flavors were spot on. Absolutely loved the Lobster Roll—definitely a standout!
Japanese food sounds like a great idea when traveling through Squamish on a rainy day. From the first minutes, we noticed that many locals picked up takeout orders which is always a good sign, and we were right. The staff was amiable, and the service was quick. Portions here are slightly bigger than an average Japanese restaurant in the Lower Mainland. The sashimi dinner box has great value while offering delicious food. So everything we tried lived up to our expectations, and I see why this place appears to be popular with locals.
We both had the Teriyaki Bento box and were very satisfied! Good portions, great variety, tempura was delicious , great addition with gyoza and croquettes, the Teriyaki was delicious and tasted very healthy even though it doesn't come with rice but lots of cabbage (I got beef and my husband got chicken), dynamite roll was perfect and salad dressing very yummy!! We added some Toro aburi, it comes just 2 pieces :( and Alaska roll to our order. One of the best bento boxes we have had in a long time.
I almost don’t want to share this hidden gem, but Umai Sushi is just too good! The prawn tempura is crispy perfection, the chicken karaage is addictive, and the sashimi is always fresh and flavorful. The chefs are amazing, and the servers are so kind and welcoming—it’s my favorite spot in town!
